Lorillard Firemark Lorillard - Volunteer fireman in New York City formed the Lorillard Fire Insurance Co. in 1853, choosing a brass fire mark as it's emblem. Cornelius V. Anderson, later Chief Engineer of the N.Y. Fire Department, was it's first president.
